Cumberland County Senior Centers
Support senior citizens in your neighborhood by volunteering at the local senior community center. Share your time, help with technology, have a conversation and experience living history. There is a lot to learn from one another.
Big Spring Senior Center
The Big Spring Senior Center provides a safe and attractive environment for those fifty and over by establishing a program that enhances an active lifestyle—physically, mentally, socially and spiritually.Volunteers are vital to the success of our center, without them we couldn't survive. Children under the age of 18 volunteering require supervision of an adult. Please contact Cathy at 776-4478 to discuss ways you could help.
West Shore Senior Citizens Center
Join seniors at West Shore Senior Center by volunteering your time and talents with our seniors. There is no age requirement for volunteers. We appreciate the time students put in and the effort it takes to share talents with us at the Senior Centers. Youth volunteers benefit our center by providing assistance with activities or simply taking time to have a conversation with our seniors. Other volunteer ideas include working one on one with seniors or providing a "crash course for technology" and a project to create a living history with our veterans. Proudly sponsored by: Messiah Lifeways.
Shippensburg Senior Activities Center
Menno Haven volunteers are a vital part of our communities. Our volunteer program is comprised of men, women, and students (at least age 13) from various stages of life. Volunteers work alongside staff members to provide loving care to our residents and assist us in carrying out our mission. There are many opportunities for volunteers to be involved at our communities and a variety of ways to share a special talent, interest or offer personal attention and loving concern.
Volunteers always needed to call Bingo on Monday and Thursday from 12:30-2, help in the kitchen getting MOW packed at 7:30am and drivers to deliver MOW at 10:30am.
