Conversations to Remember

Virtual

Conversations to Remember is seeking outgoing college and high school student volunteers for virtual visits with residents in senior living communities who are lonely or just looking to expand their social circles. Our goal is to make the volunteering experience as easy as possible for our volunteers to put a smile on a senior’s face. All of our volunteering is 100% virtual, and can be done from your home, dorm, or any other area that is suitable. Volunteers do not need to drive anywhere themselves or enlist the assistance of a parent to drive anywhere. You will need an area that has good Internet access, so your video is undisturbed, and a device that is capable of making a video call. The software required for the video call resides on our website, and can be accessed without any download. As part of our training, volunteers are introduced to this software.

Meals on Wheels

Syracuse

Each day, volunteers help prepare, package, and distribute hundreds of nutritious meals to homebound seniors. The Meals on Wheels program helps to preserve dignity and independence of meal recipients by delaying nursing home placements, as well as reducing the frequency of hospitalizations. Kitchen volunteers must be 10 years old, younger children may participate in deliveries with supervision of a parent.
