Chesapeake Bay Foundation Student Leadership Program
Our student leadership program combines two of CBF's organizational strengths, education, and advocacy. We do this by offering students opportunities to expand their knowledge of Bay issues through immersive outdoor field experiences and encouraging students to advocate for Bay issues which are meaningful to them. The Student Leadership program is open to students in grades 9-12. Questions can be directed to: SLCoordinator@cbf.org
Cumberland County Drug and Alcohol Commission Youth Advisory Board
The Drug & Alcohol Commission's “Youth Advisory Board” gives teens that are interested the opportunity for leadership roles to activley prevent alcohol, tobacco, and other drug abuse within local schools and communities.
Governor's Youth Council for Hunting, Fishing, and Conservation
The purpose of the youth council is to identify effective strategies for engaging younger generations in the conservation and preservation of Pennsylvania’s natural resources and the enhancement of the commonwealth’s hunting and fishing heritage. The youth council, comprised of up to 20 individuals, ages 14 through 18, are to communicate their ideas and recommendations through the advisory council to the governor and the secretary of DCNR.
HOBY Youth Leadership - Central PA
Central PA HOBY is a non-profit organization focused on motivating and empowering young people to make a positive difference within our society through understanding and action. HOBY’s flagship program, the annual Leadership Seminar is designed for high school sophomores to recognize their leadership talents in becoming effective, ethical leaders in their homes, schools, and communities.
Hope Station Youth Leadership
This program is designed foster leadership among high school students through interaction with community leaders, help with college prep, and aid in community improvement projects. Youth from grades 9 thru 12, will learn leadership skills, the importance of community service and trade skills.
National Youth Leadership Council
Our programs and services develop young leaders, support educators, and advance the field of service-learning. NYLC accelerates student achievement in school districts by strengthening academic, civic, and character outcomes through service-learning. We tap into the passion, creativity, and ingenuity of all young people to make meaningful change happen.
The 31st Annual National Service-Learning Conference, April 16 – 18, 2020 is in New Orleans, Louisiana. This year’s theme is Unmask Your Potential – it’s a call for educators and community members to join in partnership with students to make positive change in the world.
LEAF- Leadership Education and Farming
The LEAF Project will provide paid Youth Internships, (ages 14-18) to work alongside local farmers and chefs in the area for a seven week program this summer. Work will encompass: planting, growing, & harvesting vegetables for area restaurants and hunger relief donation, development of culinary skills, and exploration of leadership and food systems topics.
Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Students of the Year
Students of the Year is a philanthropic leadership development program for exemplary high school students. During the campaign, participants foster professional skills such as entrepreneurship, marketing, and project management in order to raise funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). Program begins on Jan. 16, 2020.
Pennsylvania Kiwanis Service Leadership Programs
Service Leadership Programs enable Kiwanis to teaches young leaders new methods to impact the world by serving one child and one community at a time. Service Leadership is viewed as the next level above service learning. It is only when a young person truly grasps the concept of learning by helping others, that growth as a leader can occur.
Stevenson School for Ministry/Youth Ministry
All are welcome to join in the Diocese of Central PA youth committee. The committee's support, nurturing, and caring for our young people and each other is encouraged, while learning and growing together in Christ. Leadership formation goals are: develop a network of youth leaders, Diocesan Youth, training opportunities for youth, as well as preparing for and taking part in missions.

Youth and Government at the Y
Youth and Government a civic education and leadership development program that is held across the state. at YMCAs, schools, and organizations. Middle and High school students gain hands-on learning while experiencing our state government working(legislative and judicial). Students will benefit academically and socially, setting them on a successful course for the future.
YWCA Carlisle Girl Power L.E.A.D.S. The Future
Girl Power! LEADS the Future, a no-cost workshop series held throughout the year, focuses on leadership development for girls in middle and high school across Cumberland County. The half-day workshops are designed to equip and empower girls to be leaders in our community through character development and issue awareness.
YWCA Carlisle Girl Power L.E.A.D.S.
Girl Power! L.E.A.D.S. (Lead. Empower. Advocate. Develop. Serve) is a leadership program designed for girls in 7th through 12th grade in Cumberland County. Throughout the year, L.E.A.D. will focus on character development and effective teamwork in order to prepare participants to be change agents in their communities.
YWCA Youth Leadership Conference
Each October during YWCA’s Week Without Violence, YWCA Carlisle holds the free Annual Youth Leadership Conference for students from Cumberland County high schools.YWCA Carlisle provides a safe and respectful space for thoughtful and intentional discussion about racial equality, personal bias, and social justice in the context of the school community.
