A local teen came up with an new way to raise money for Alex's Lemonade Stand benefitting kids with cancer.
Kids around the country have joined the fight against childhood cancer with lemonade stands. Proceeds from these stands are given to Alex's Lemonade Stand, a charity that supports children battling cancer.
"We are all healthy and enjoy sports very much, but there are other kids in this area that are less fortunate battling pediatric cancer."
A soccer player wanted to offer support to kids during their cancer treatment. He appreciated that while he was blocking goals on the field, there are kids that are dealing with cancer off the pitch. An idea came to him to join forces with a local restaurant to raise funds for the cause. After discussions, the restaurant agreed to support Alex's Lemonade Stand by brewing a lemonade ale for adults, to be sold at the restaurant. The proceeds from the batch would be donated to the cause. Luke's Lemon Headlock, as the ale was labeled is helping to put the squeeze on childhood cancer. This goalie is making saves off the field in his community with his "Saves for Kids" campaign to support pediatric cancer through Alex's Lemonade Stand.
